One of my favourite ways to take time out to myself is to get up early and spend half an hour reading some of the blogs that I find enlightening and informative and are helping me along this journey of discovery in living a slower life.
There are so many blogs around, all sharing amazing content that if your not careful you can spend that half hour just finding the blogs and not having enough time to read anything.
For this reason, I thought I’d share with you each week on Sunday’s, a selection of my time out reads so you can enjoy the reading and not waste your precious time out on finding something to read.
As the festive period is fast approaching, many of my picks for this week have a Christmas theme, and I just love seeing how others are celebrating the season and spend time with their families and friends.
We live in a modest sized house, so I find adding a Christmas tree and decorations to the mix can be quite stressful, Reading my Tea Leaves has some great tips on how they cope with decorations in a small apartment.
The Minimalist Mom talks about how her and her family are doing more during the holiday season. I find this interesting as I am trying to slow down and spend more time with my family and to me this means more time at home, but as this post shares, you can still spend time with your family and enjoy activities that are around at this time of year and not burn out if you’ve slowed down during the rest of the year.
Whilst at the skate park yesterday, I was talking to a friend and she said that this year she has simply used the decorations her children have made for their tree this year as they had so many. I thought this was a great idea and it reminded me of this post from Little Green Shed Blog and how they’ve paired back their decorations this year.
This post raised some interesting responses for the author but I like the idea although in practice, its too late for us this year. My Make Do and Mend Life talks about how she is achieving a no spend Christmas.
Again it’s too late to adopt this philosophy for this holiday season, but over on It’s The Little Things, Amanda is sharing her approach to gift giving for her family this year.
I hope you enjoy these posts as much as I have. If you have any posts you’ve enjoyed and would like to share, please leave a link in your comments.
Have a great Sunday x
