Life is slowly getting back to normal. This next week I’ll be returning to University and my new mindset will be tested to see if it can really work.
Just before Christmas was the turning point to realising I couldn’t carry on the way I was without burning out. Trying to study full time, run a home full time and chase around after my three at numerous activities and school events were really taking their toll, especially as I thought I needed to be on the ball with it all.
Add to this a couple of blogs, working and other responsibilities, breaking point was fast approaching, so I took a step back (thanks to Christmas) and decided that I wanted to live my life with less stress, less want and more intention.
With this in mind, here are the posts I have been reading to help me on this journey.
Now I am not entirely signed up to a minimalist life, my home is in dire need of a declutter but I do like the idea given from this post by Break the Twitch. Through becoming more minimalist you can see through all the noise that is our modern lives to what we truly want to do or be.
I’ve started bullet journaling and I have tried and tried to keep a diary but it is just something I never keep up. I stumbled upon this idea from Austin Kleon and I think its a great way to document the important events of the day.
Another take on new year resolutions over on The Art of Simple really struck a chord with me. Having one key goal or intention can lead to so much more as this shows.
I found this beautiful blog, The Foraged Life, and love this post and it echos my feelings exactly.
Finally, this essay from Julie Schumacher blew me away.
