Field with a view

The season of slowing down, taking stock and appreciating.
Of wrapping up, snuggling down and enjoying the days we can get outside.
Planning for the year ahead.
Yesterday was a beautiful winter’s day.
With the kids off for half term, it has been a juggle but we’ve tried to make the most of the time I’m not a university.
Spend some quality time with each of my three individually.
My little man and I took a walk across the fields yesterday, slowly, taking the time to see the world through his eyes, spotting the small things; fungi on a log, the rings of a fresh cut tree trunk, the view across the fields.
I walk this way most days and missed most of them.
Slowing down and see things from another perspective opens our eyes to so much more.

  1. There really are some beautiful winter's days when we stop to see them. Today as I write this at my desk, the sun is shining and whilst it is very cold outside, it is also bright.

  2. Great post. I totally agree with this. Most people and maybe especially parents are always in a rush to get somewhere or trying to keep a watchful eye on the children (and hurrying them along) that we/they forget to sometimes slow down and see the little things.
I am guilty sometimes of being a little too slow whilst out on walks with my camera!

  3. I'm always in too much of a rush and sometimes have to remind myself to slow down and enjoy what's going on around me. Thanks for sharing this post and your fabulous photos x

  4. It's so nice to just stop and take a breath isn't it. We love the outdoors although we've failed to be out every day this week which is what the original plan was. We've been a bit weary! Gorgeous photos, enjoy the weekend 🙂

  6. I really enjoy when we go for walks and there is not technology or phones around and we actually get to live in the moment and see things that we usually miss because we are doing other things! plus it's great to get a new and clearer perspective on things! great post

  7. What beautiful pictures and words. This time of year is lovely and often gets overlooked. On a bright crisp sunny day it's great to get outside!

  25. Such fun to take a child's perspective on things, it really makes you look closely at things you just take for granted.
